A simple quick DIY Hair Mask | Banana Infused

DIY Banana Hair Mask

Did you know that dirt, pollution and environmental toxins can cause damage to your hair?  Well if you didn’t know, now you know.  No need to freak out about it, instead let’s dissect what can be done to protect your hair.  Applying a banana mask will do the trick as the vitamin B from the fruit will coat the hair and protect it from the sun and other damaging deterrents for up to five days.  Bananas are full of vitamins and is a strong nutrient for strengthening the hair. It helps in repairing dry and sun-damaged hair.  Find out how all this goodness translates into the healthier hair in Hair Food – Bananas.

Enjoy the natural moisturizing benefits of bananas with this banana hair mask.

•1 mashed banana
•1 egg
•3 tablespoons honey
•3 tablespoons milk
•5 tablespoons olive oil

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Apply the mask to your hair from the roots to the ends.  Cover hair with a shower cap or a plastic bag. Let the mask soak into your hair for about 15 to 30 minutes or longer if you’d like. Rinse out the mask with cold water, then shampoo and condition your hair as usual.

Note: *Make sure you blend this mixture really good, the last thing you want is to have pieces of banana stuck to your hair.  Also use a shampoo that provides PH balance to your hair.

Benefits: Like I always say, you can put as many products on your hair as possible but the greatest way to have healthy hair is to eat well.  So I suggest that you eat bananas or make a banana infused shake a few times per week as it is high in:
– Potassium
– Vitamin B6
– Vitamin C
– Tryptophan as a “mood-enhancing protein”
– Healthy Blood Circulation
– High in Fiber
