We definitely risked having this event in the winter because the stereotype is that Black people don’t go anywhere when it’s cold outside… but when it comes to our hair we’ll go anywhere. Plus, although it was cold outside the laughter, fun and heated discussion kept us warm inside. We began the event with a mix and mingle to meet other Naturals in the city followed by a product swap. To my surprise products that were brought for swap are Kinky Curly Custard, Jane Carter Curl Defining Cream, Almond oil, and Hello Hydration. But I surely was not surprised to see Pantene Nature Fusion Moisture Conditioner, Locs & Twist, Karen’s Body Beautiful Moisturizer and Cantu Pomade. To the lovely ladies that got lightly used products don’t forget to give us a review on the products you took home for free. Following the product swap was the well needed iHEARTmyhair Focus Group discussion that consisted of a series of questions that will better assist us with our 2011 projects and strategies.

The 2 hour round table discussion was a well needed one for the die hard topics such as: Is Natural Hair a trend or a fad?, Does the term Good Hair still exist today? and What race are most likely to hair profile you? The beauty of this discussion is that it was recorded for our upcoming event in the new year.

I saw the pictures and noticed a lot of beautiful hair do’s. We need an interactive session like this in Nigeria. Love the last picture. That TWA is fierce and I’m really tempted to lock my hair.
I loved the event and I cannot wait to link up again. So good to me in a positive natural environment. By the way I’ve reviewed Jane Carter’s Curl Defining Cream on my blog. Thanks again Anya!
OMG I am heading over to your blog to find out what you thought…
